How to Check Movie Ratings

If you're planning to go to the movies, you may be interested in checking out movie ratings first. The Motion Picture Association of America rates movies based on their content. Movie ratings include "G" (General Audiences), "PG" (Parental Guidance Suggested), "PG-13" (Parents Strongly Cautioned), "R" (Restricted - under 17 must be accompanied by an adult) and "NC-17" (no one under 18 allowed). Checking a movie rating can help you to avoid movies that may cause awkward moments if you bring your children along. These ratings also can help you avoid movies that may go against your beliefs or values.
