The Colonial Promenade 6 is one of the movie theater locations owned by Touchstar Cinemas. Movie ticket prices advertised online as of January 2011 are $1 on Tuesdays, while on other days tickets cost $2.50. Admission for foreign films has different pricing.
The theater is located at 4672 E. Colonial Drive, about 1/2 mile east of Fashion Square Mall. Movie show times can be checked on the theater’s website at touchstarcinemas.com or at 407-888-8224.
Another popular dollar theater in Orlando is the Picture Show at Altamonte Springs on Altamonte Drive. Ticket prices are 75 cents on Tuesdays, while on other days the cost is $1.25 before 6 p.m.
After 6 p.m., the price goes up to $1.75. For groups of 15 or more, the theater offers a deal charging $4.50 per person, which includes one movie ticket, a small drink, popcorn and candy.
Although these dollar theaters are inexpensive, there are some things that movie-goers should consider before visiting. First, the movies being shown are fairly old; at times their DVD versions have already been released.
Aside from this, the theaters do not feature the latest top-of-the-line equipment, such as a THX audio system or a Dolby surround sound system. The seats and facilities may also not be as high-quality as the typical theater charging the usual rates.
