Several dinner theaters in Orlando, Florida and nearby Kissimmee (just minutes away) offer a family-friendly night out that includes a multi-course meal and a show for one price. The theaters offer shows with medieval, Arabian fairytale, or pirate themes, allowing you to slip out of the humdrum and into a fantasy world for the evening.
  1. Medieval Times

    • Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament is a dinner show in which the audience is divided into sections, each of which cheers for one knight in an 11th-century style tournament. The knights compete in games on horseback, riding atop Spanish Andalusians, Quarter Horses and Fresians raised specifically for the show. A four-course meal that you eat with your hands is served during the show, with fare including garlic bread, soup, oven-roasted chicken, spare ribs, an herb-basted potato, dessert and soft drinks; vegetarian meals including stuffed mushroom caps, hummus, and roasted vegetables are available upon request. The show is about two hours long. Parking is free, and the doors open 90 minutes before showtime. Seating is not assigned, so arrive early if you want your choice of seats. Dress code is casual. As of 2010, rates are $59.95 per adult and $35.95 for each child under 12.

    Arabian Nights

    • Arabian Nights is a 90-minute Arabian-themed show that tells a story of genies entertaining a princess. Dinner entrees can be selected from a menu of six options including sirloin steak, vegetarian lasagna, and grilled chicken breast; each meal comes with a salad, roll, and choice of a brownie or cheesecake for dessert. Unlimited coffee, tea, sodas, beer and wine are included, and cocktails can be purchased at a cash bar. Special meal requests such as kosher or gluten-free can be accommodated with a 24-hour notice. It is suggested that you arrive 45 minutes before the show to allow time to park and check in, enjoy the preshow, and select seats, which are not assigned. A VIP experience is available for an additional fee; this will allow you inside the arena before the show to get up close to the show's horses; it also includes seating in the first three rows of the theater, a drink, and souvenirs. As of 2010, rates are $63.99 for adults and $40 for children aged 3 to 11.

    Pirate's Dinner Adventure

    • Pirate's Dinner Adventure is a Broadway-style pirate-themed show in which the audience is seated around a life-size replica of an 18th century pirate ship. Before the show, you can take photos with pirates, be entertained by gypsy performers, and enjoy appetizers. During the show, your pirate feast includes soup, salad, two rounds of beer or soft drinks, Caribbean rice, red potatoes, dessert and your choice of roast chicken leg, pork tenderloin, or shrimp and scallops. As of 2010, rates are $59.95 for adults and $39.95 for children 3 to 11 (tax not included).
