Dip a cloth in rubbing alcohol and wipe it across your scratched DVD starting at the inside edge and moving towards the outside edge. The rubbing alcohol will dissolve and clean away fingerprints and dirt from the DVD surface. When finished cleaning, allow the DVD to air dry before use.
Spray furniture polish onto a cloth and wipe it across your DVD to polish the scratches on the surface of your DVD. The furniture polish will enhance the shine of the DVD surface, making it easier for a DVD player to read the disc. After polishing the DVD, follow the instructions in step one to clean your DVD with rubbing alcohol before use.
Squeeze some toothpaste onto a cloth and wipe it onto the surface of your DVD, applying moderate pressure. The toothpaste will smooth out the scratches on your DVD surface with its gritty texture. When finished smoothing out most of the scratches on your DVD, follow the instructions in step one to clean your DVD with rubbing alcohol before use.
