Find an online photo lab that provides Super 8 video transfer, or telecine, such as Dwayne's Photo.
Open the order form page on the website for Dwayne's Photo or whatever film transfer service you have chosen.
Follow the instructions on the order form to calculate for your transfer costs. You may also have to send a price quote request.
Mail your film to the address provided along with a print-out of the order form, and make sure to include any information or labeling that the film lab requests. This will ensure your film does not get lost by the lab. Paying extra for delivery confirmation is a good idea as well.
Wait to receive a VHS or DVD copy of your film in the mail. It usually takes up to two weeks for a film lab to transfer your film, but times will vary.
Take your Super 8 films to a photo center at a department store or pharmacy, such as Wal-Mart, Target or CVS Pharmacy.
Fill out a photo finishing drop-off envelope with your address, phone number and other applicable information. Write on the outside of the package "Super 8mm film video transfer."
Put the Super 8mm film in the envelope.
Give your film to the photo finishing attendant. Make sure you tell him that you want the film transferred to video and indicate whether you want the video on VHS or DVD.
Pick up your film and video copy when it is finished processing. This will likely take up to two weeks or longer, so you may want to wait for the photo lab to call you before driving back to pick it up.
