The seven dwarfs were named by Walt Disney and his team of story writers.
While the original story by the Brothers Grimm, "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs," only refers to them as "the dwarfs" and doesn't give them specific names, Disney decided to give them unique personalities and names for his 1937 film adaptation.
