Incredible Magic Tricks Revealed

The next time you have a party don't spend a billion dollars on decorations, entertainment and food. You can provide the life of the party by performing magic tricks for your friends. With a little bit of practice and dedication, you can be the next Houdini for your son's birthday party, or just fool your friends when you're hanging out at the bar.
  1. Hole in My Pocket

    • The Trick: You have a member of the audience mark a quarter with a pen and give it to you. You then put the coin in your pocket and start to shake your leg to move the coin down your pant leg. As you're shaking, you say, "You know what, the hole is in my other pocket." Then lift up the foot of your other leg to reveal the coin underneath your foot.

How To Do It: Before the trick starts, place a quarter underneath your left foot. Ask a spectator to mark a quarter. Place the coin in your pocket, shake your leg and do your whole magic talk. Lift up your left foot to reveal the coin. Here's the hard part. Pick up the coin and put it into your right pocket. What you are really doing is switching the coin with the spectator's marked coin. Make sure you do it smoothly. With your hand in your pocket, look at the spectator confused and say, "I'm sorry, I can't remember if this was mine or you let me borrow it," and give him his marked coin.

    Shrinking Coin

    • The Trick: You make a quarter fit through a hole big enough only for a nickel while the audience is stumped trying to the same.

How To Do It: Cut out a square piece of paper and trace a nickel in the middle of it. Get a quarter and show the audience the difference in size. Let members try to fit the quarter through the hole. Fold the piece of paper and slightly push the folded ends toward each other. This will cause a little bend in the paper that makes the hole big enough for the quarter to fit through. Easily drop the quarter through the hole as the audience sits stunned.

    Instant Ice

    • The Trick: After pouring water into a cup, you wave your hands over it, give it a couple magic blows, and turn over the cup to see the water has turned into ice cubes.

How To Do It: Before the trick, place a sponge in the bottom of the cup. The trick clearly won't work if the cup is transparent. Fill the cup with cubes of ice. In front of the audience, pour some water into the cup. Don't put in too much water, the sponge will only hold about an inch. After you pour the water, do your magic moves and then tip the cup over to show the water has turned to ice cubes. Get rid of the cup as quickly as possible.
