Country Night Clubs in Tucson

Tucson, Arizona, is the picture of the Wild West. From the tumbleweeds to the cowboy hats, this is a city that embraces its history as a land where the hardiest of gun-slinging settlers raised livestock and grew whatever they could in this unforgiving region. In an effort to temporarily relive that wild period in Tucson's history, many residents seek out nightclubs that cater to the beer-swilling, cowboy-hat crowd.
  1. Cactus Moon Cafe

    • If you have the cowboy hat and boots, but you seem to have two left feet when you get on that dance floor, the Cactus Moon Cafe offers lessons in the early evening. Hone your skills, then grab a beer and start showing off your new moves. This club features live country music every Friday night.

    The Maverick--King of Clubs

    • The Maverick opened in 1962 and has hosted some of the biggest names in country music, including Willie Nelson and Tanya Tucker. This establishment offers live country music Tuesday through Saturday, plus the occasional Sunday show. And if ever you need to take a break from dancing the two-step, you can head into the Maverick's Whiskey Lounge for a drink.

    River's Edge Lounge

    • This nightclub is not strictly devoted to country music, but every Friday night, the River's Edge Lounge becomes a rowdy cowboy bar. Otto Ross, who wrote the River's Edge Lounge review for Metromix.com, says the key to this nightclub's success is cheap beer combined with attentive, attractive waitstaff.
