The infamous Gilley’s nightclub, located just south of downtown Dallas, was originally popularized by the 1980s movie Urban Cowboy. Over three decades later, and the nightclub has been rebuilt and is more popular than ever, even being described as one of the best country-western dance clubs in the Dallas-Fort Worth region by tourism website Dallas.com.
Gilley’s nightclub features a massive dance floor, an infamous mechanical bull and free country dance lessons every Saturday night from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. With the club regularly hosting country concerts by country rock legends such as Blues Traveler, Chris Rivers and Kyle Park, Gilley’s draws in droves of locals and tourists alike every night of the week.
