Latin & Hip-Hop Night Clubs in New York

The Big Apple is world famous for its nightlife. Nightclubs abound in New York City as well as throughout the state. New York has a large Hispanic population, which is reflected by the myriad nightclubs that feature Latin music. Hip-hop is also strongly intertwined within New York culture. Therefore, New Yorkers don't have to look far to find a hip-hop or Latin club when looking to socialize and dance.

  1. The Copacabana

    • The Copacabana is located in midtown Manhattan at the corner of 34th Street and 11th Avenue. The Copa, as it is known by many locals, is an 18-and-up club that features authentic Latin music and salsa and merengue dancing. For those new to Latin dancing or for those who simply want to brush up on their skills, the Copacabana offers free Latin dance lessons nightly from 6 to 8 pm. The enormous club can hold as many as 4,000 guests at one time and guests can party till dawn on the weekends when the club stays open until 5 a.m. Each Friday night, guests are treated to the sounds of New York City's own Pulse 87 FM DJ Andre the Drey Dog, who spins live from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.

    LQ Nightclub

    • With its eclectic mixture of Latin music, hip-hop and even Asian influences, the LQ Nightclub has quickly become one of the hottest night spots in New York City. A revived version of the old Latin Quarter nightclub, the LQ is located in the heart of New York City on Lexington Avenue. The club features a recessed dance floor, a downstairs lounge and two separate VIP areas. Visitors to the club can dance the night away to the sounds of hip-hop, house and Latin tunes by DJ Rob Flow. Featuring executive chef Rodney Mitchell's Latin-Asian fusion menu, the LQ is a 15,000-square-foot haven for those who love good food, a full bar and dancing the night away.

    • With over 15,000 square feet of dance space, Club Temple NYC boasts that it is unrivaled in the NYC club scene. Club Temple NYC has an extensive sound and lighting system that is rivaled only by its unique and modern design, which includes soaring vaulted ceilings and three separate levels, all of which have different themes. The main floor promotes harmony; the second floor, spiritual bliss; and the third floor, which is the VIP area, is called the Sanctuary and is said to promote transcendence.
