Chicago Latin Night Clubs

Chicago is a city of history and culture, sometimes best known for its involvement with bootlegging and the Mafia during the Prohibition. Chicago has always been a place to have a good time, and the night club scene is one great way to experience the city's culture. Chicago features a number of Latin-based night clubs where you can dance the night away.
  1. Las Vegas Nite Club

    • The Las Vegas Night Club, located on Armitage Avenue, works to bring the carefree and fun atmosphere associated with Sin City to the streets of Chicago. The Las Vegas Nite Club features salsa, meringue and cumbia Latin music and dance styles, and generally allows admittance for free. The club is open from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. Tuesdays through Sundays; the club does not operate on Mondays. It also features live Latin music bands on the weekends for an even more intense dance experience.

    Excalibur

    • The Excalibur Night Club is a veritable hot spot for adults, featuring three floors that include drinking, dancing, food, billiards and video games. One of the best features of Excalibur is its Thursday night dance party, located on the second floor of the night club, which is designated as Club X. There is an additional cover to get into Club X, but if you are looking for Latin Dance scene, it will be worth the price.

Club X features Latin Street Dancing on Thursdays from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m. Along with half priced appetizers, this weekly special features dance instructors to teach you how to dance your best salsa and cha cha before you hit the floor for real to the DJ's mix of salsa, meringue, cumbia and cha cha music.

    Rumba

    • Rumba is a combined restaurant and night club with a distinctly Latin flair. Rumba opens earlier than many night clubs---5 p.m. to midnight Tuesday through Thursday; 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and 5 p.m. to 3 a.m. Saturday (Rumba is closed on Sundays and Mondays)--because of its unique combination of restaurant and dance club.

Rumba creates Latin American fusion dishes, combing the best of Cuban, Peruvian, Puerto Rican, Argentinian and Mexican food with Spanish favorites like rice and seafood. Beyond the food, Rumba features live music at night from Wednesday through Saturday, hosting bands that specialize in cha cha, salsa and Latin jazz. Dancers can dance away to meringue and salsa, and those who have never had the experience can take free salsa lessons on Fridays from 9 to 10 p.m.
