Divided into four levels, with a bar on each floor, and large enough to accommodate 1,500 patrons, Club 708 is the biggest gay club in the city. Two of its three dance floors play hip hop and R&B, while the third area features DJs spinning house music. Club 708 also features a casual restaurant, game room and pool hall, along with entertainment including late-night drag shows, male reviews and live shows. A historic institution in the Atlanta LGBT scene, Bulldog has been open since 1978, and continues to draw a mix of locals and tourists to Midtown. The bar has undergone many face-lifts since it opened, and is currently a hip-hop hot spot for African-American males. The bartenders are known for their generous pours, and for club-goers not interested in dancing, Bulldog Bar has a quarter-fed pool table and a quiet patio area where you can catch up with friends or meet new ones. Phase One, just a 15-minute drive from downtown Atlanta, is a hip-hop club catering mostly to lesbians, but which welcomes all kinds of people. The club features one large dance floor and a separate bar area, with a handful of intimate leather booths filling the space.
