Posh Bar bills itself as the original gay bar in Hell's Kitchen, which is a neighborhood in midtown Manhattan. Citysearch voted it the "Best Gay Bar in NYC" in 2010. Splash Bar is a club and lounge in the Chelsea area. It has two floors, a 2,000-square-foot dance floor, a state-of-the-art lighting system and three large video displays. It's open every night from 4 p.m. to 4 a.m., and regularly hosts guest performers and DJs like Britney Spears and Junior Vasquez. The lounge on the first floor is available for personal parties, celebrations and corporate events. Since opening in 1991, Splash has gone through numerous renovations, but remains one of the busiest nightclubs in the city. The Urge, located in the East Village in a former funeral home, is a Citysearch winner for "Best Same-Sex Singles Scene in NYC." The club's colorful interior includes a two-tier bar and tables with embedded plasma TVs. The Urge features male go-go dancers, free party favors, happy hour and other events every night. It also holds weekly contests and games, with cash prizes of up to $500.
