  1. Kelly's Outer Banks Restaurant and Tavern

    • By day, Kelly's Outer Banks Restaurant and Tavern (kellysrestaurant.com) is an award-winning restaurant offering everything from fresh Outer Banks seafood to vegetarian entrees. Later, the Tavern -- which calls itself "the largest dance floor on the beach" on its website -- is where the night life takes place. It features live bands, karaoke nights and special events such as a St. Patrick's day party and an adult Easter egg hunt on the beach. The Tavern is open until 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday and 1 a.m. all other nights. (see Reference 2)

    Port O' Call's Gaslight Saloon

    • Port O' Call (outerbankspocrestaurant.com) features live music and dancing at its bar, the Gaslight Saloon. The restaurant itself was renovated in 2011 and considers itself unique to the Outer Banks. When local live music is not presented at the Gaslight Saloon, a disc jockey is sometimes featured to provide dance music. Some events on site include a New Year's Eve party, Wednesday night dance parties, Bike Week parties and no-cover nightclub admission with the purchase of dinner.

    Outer Banks Brewing Station

    • Events like Ladies' Night every Wednesday and Dancing through the Decades can be found at the Outer Banks Brewing Station (obbrewing.com), the country's first wind-powered brewery. Live music by local bands as well as disc jockeys are featured for entertainment in the evenings. In the earlier hours, the restaurant -- open seven days a week -- has a wide variety of options for lunch, dinner and even brunch, and includes a family-friendly kids' menu.

    Basnight's Lone Cedar Café

    • Basnight's Lone Cedar Café's Osprey Lounge (lonecedarcafe.com) features more than 50 types of beer as well as a view of its very own osprey nest. For entertainment, karaoke, live music and a disc jockey are alternately offered along with late-night dancing. The Osprey Lounge provides ocean views as well as special events. The Lone Cedar Café has its own gift shop as well, and the restaurant prides itself on serving the freshest local seafood around.
