The Atlanta Swing Dancers Club (atlantaswingdancers.com/) brings together swing dancers, competitive to beginners, in classes, events and competitions. The Club sponsors the Atlanta Swing Classic, a weekend of events, classes and demonstrations of swing dance. The Graveyard Tavern (graveyardtavern.com) is an Atlanta bar and restaurant that hosts weekly music events and parties. Every Wednesday night is swing night at the tavern with a live jazz band and swing dancing. The weekly event is from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. and there is no cover charge.
The Fernbank Museum of Natural History (fernbankmuseum.org) host Martinis and IMAX every Friday night from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. The event features food, signature cocktails, DJs and an IMAX film. The calendar changes monthly but usually includes a swing night with a live swing jazz band. Swing night also includes free swing dance lessons provided by a local swing dance school.
Hot Jam is a group of swing dancers that hosts a weekly dance event at the Garden Hills Community Center (gardenhillspool.com). The event features dancers of all levels, free lessons for beginners, specialty lessons and refreshments. The club practices all kinds of swing dances including Lindy Hop, Shag, Jitterbug and Charleston. The club's classes begin at 7 p.m. and the open dance starts at 8:30 p.m. and goes until 11 p.m.
