Stall the glowstick by throwing it into the air then catching it on a body part, such as a foot, the back of a hand or the nape of the neck, and using that body art to quickly decelerate it from freefall to stopped-in-place.
Drop the glowstick and kick it back up to a height where you can catch it again. You can kick with the instep, outstep or laces of the feet, and can also bounce the stick up with your knee.
Perform a liquid maneuver by trailing the stick on one hand after another stick in the other while moving them in a wave-like motion, creating the look of liquid flowing.
Throw the sticks through the air and catch them again. Simple throws, such as tossing the stick over your head in an underhand motion and catching it, are great for beginners and can lead to learning more advanced tricks, such behind-the-back tosses.
Trace with the glowsticks by moving the sticks around a body part, tracing the part in the air with the light. The stomach trace is the most common trace, with the sticks moving around the stomach quickly in a square shape.
Perform a figure eight by moving the sticks through the air in the shape of an eight in front of your chest. By starting one stick at the top of the eight, and the other at the bottom, you can make it so that nearly a complete eight is visible if moving fast enough.
