Instructions

  1. Dance to Rick Astley

    • 1

Swing your hips in a rotating manner while swaying back and forth. When you sway from side to side, make sure you push your hip up when you reach each side. The hip should push up to the beat of the song. This sort of "hip thrust" creates the impression of an imaginary "U" that repeated back and forth throughout the extent of the song.

    • 2

Bend your knees as you swing your hips. This will make your body look more natural and like it is swinging in association with your upper body. On every other swing, give the knees an extra push to really add on for dramatic effect.

    • 3

Bend your arms at the elbow and hold them somewhat tight against your body. Rick will swing the forearms back and forth, up and down throughout the duration of the music video. You can mix and match the routine. Just make sure your forearms swing in the same direction. Once in a while, change the arm swaying with a few claps to the beat.

    • 4

Grab a pair of '80s sunglasses and a high-top haircut. If you really want to get into it, wear either a full black suit or collar white shirt tucked in at the waist.
