How to Dance the 2 Step

A great dance move to learn that can be done with a partner is the 2 step. This particular dance move has a lot of different variations and can be mixed up together to make for a fun evening of dancing. The move will take a lot of practice, but before long you will be an expert who will wow the crowds in any bar or club.

Instructions

      Stand in front of your partner so that you are face to face with her. Make sure that your feet are together.

      Place your right hand on the waist of your partner. Extend your left arm out bent slightly at the elbow and clasp hands with your partner.

      Step forward with your left foot. This step should be done quickly and on the first beat of the song playing. On the second beat of the song step forward with your right foot at the same quick pace. Your partner should move her right foot back as you move your left foot forward.

      Step forward again using the left foot, but this time slow the motion down. This should be done during the third beat of the music. Stop for the next beat of the music. Again, your partner's right foot goes back as you come forward.

      Step forward slowly with your right foot on the fifth beat of the music. Your partner should move her left foot back this time.

      Pause on the sixth beat and on the seventh bring your feet back together. Repeat all 6 steps until the song is completed.
