How to Cite a Movie Clip in APA Format

Different writing formats call for different ways of citing sources. The American Psychological Association (APA) style of writing was developed by scientists for easier comprehension of scientific writing. Because of this, the APA format is mostly used for technical writing. Writings of journalists and science professors will use the APA format of writing and citing.

      Create the proper margins in your document by moving the top and bottom arrows on the far left of your document's ruler. Keep the top arrow where it is, but move the bottom arrow to the right five spaces.

      Enter the name of the producer. Last name first, comma and then the first name. Follow this with a period.

      Enter the date of the clip's creation in parentheses, followed by a period.

      Type the title of the video in italics and enter the video format in brackets. Add a period.

      Type "Retrieved from" and enter the URL of the website you view the video. Do not add a period after the URL.
