Instructions

  1. Create One-of-a-Kind Anime Angels

    • 1

Start your angels with a basic female half-body structure. This consists of an oval shape for the head, a mirrored horizontal "L" shape for each shoulder, two vertical lines for the neck, and an accurate line for the breasts placed one-third of the way down the body from the neck.

    • 2

Add hair of your choosing. This should be kept simple, with lines that flow in a motion that is consistent and evenly spaced. Hairlines should start thin at the top and grow thicker at the bottom to add depth to the hair, no matter if it is curly or straight.

    • 3

Add wings to your angels by drawing an upside-down "V" on either side of each shoulder.

    • 4

Define each wing for your angels by adding vertical lines from the apex of each upside down "V" down to the breast line. Depending on the width of your wings, you will need to add five to eight of these lines to denote the bone structure within the wings.

    • 5

Draw three to five very light horizontal gridlines, evenly spaced, across your wings.

    • 6

Draw a series of "V" shapes horizontally across each section, creating layers of Vs between each gridline. Take care to not exceed the width of each wing, and make sure the Vs expand in width and length as you move down the wings.

    • 7

Add texture using a charcoal pencil or watercolor pencil by shading the outside lines of each wing. Don't overdo it, though, as this shading can decrease your feather definition.

    • 8

Draw a full robe simply by adding a triangle shape to the bottom portion of your angel. You can blend this robe by adding folds and movement with vertical lines of your choice.
