A variety of desktop publishing software is available in stores and on the Internet. For example, Microsoft Publisher provides a selection of templates for booklets, including graphics and specialized themes. Desktop publishing programs such as PagePlus have many of the same features, and can be downloaded for free. Word processing programs also feature booklet templates.
Type the text into the template where indicated, as with any word processing program. Format font, color and size of the text using the standard text formatting features. Special effects can be applied to the typed text from the "Effects" menu.
Print the typed booklet using the two-sided alternating page option in the printer settings. The pages are stapled or glued after printing to create a finished booklet.
