Instructions

    • 1

Place the bound book on the flat surface and place a heavy object, such as a book, on top of the pages, leaving the spirals exposed. This step will keep the bound book in place while you work to remove the spirals.

    • 2

Look for the top end of the spiral binding and locate where it has been crimped to prevent the pages from falling out of the bound book. Using a pair of needle nose pliers, grab and straighten the crimped portion of binding.

    • 3

Cut away the now straight portion of binding using a pair of scissors.

    • 4

Go to the bottom end of the spiral binding to determine which way the binding has been threaded through the holes in the spine of the notebook.

    • 5

Holding the spiral binding at the bottom, twist it in the opposite direction from how it was threaded. Continue to thread the binding downwards until the cut end has passed through all of the holes and the binding has been completely removed.
