Use a sharp pencil to lightly sketch two identical circles atop one another, with a small gap between the two. This will be Bart's head and belly.
Draw small circles at his sides for the hands and, below the bottom belly circle, draw two flat ovals for the feet. Connect the hands and feet with the bottom and top of the belly circle with a light line.
Draw a light sketch of a rectangle, rising lengthwise from the top of Bart's head circle, tilted like a hat.
Place a circle for an eye at the top left of the head circle, through the bottom line of the rectangle you drew in Step 3.
Draw a nub off to the right side of this eye that reaches to the right edge of the circle. Make another eye by connecting a rounded line segment between the top of the eye and the tip of the nose. You can let this eye jut out over the circle you created as a sketch template.
Draw in two dots for the pupils of the eyes, then draw a small eyelid nub pointing toward the left that's over the second eye you drew, connected to a line that stretches upward along your rectangle sketch, flaring outward toward the top.
Draw a line along the left side of the rectangle that flares similarly to the hairline on the right. Stop the line when you reach the point across the plane of Bart's two pupils. Here, draw a nub for the ear, then continue downward with another line from the ear that swoops into the shape of your sketch circle.
Connect the top of your rectangle with Bart Simpson's iconic jagged hair, then run a line slowly down from the bottom of his nose nub, then across the circle and slowly down toward the other side again, making a wide arching mouth. Have the end of the bottom lip stop just shy of the top of the mouth in a hook that quickly wraps back around to meet the line from the other side of the head to meet at the neck.
Draw in five or six mounds long the top of the mouth for teeth. Connect the back of the mouth with Bart's other cheek. Make a small tongue by having a line rise toward the right then form a nub that stops shy of making a lazy P. Connect the bottom of that nub to the bottom lip.
Draw a short neck at the bottom of Bart's head, then draw a line for his shirt that widens slightly from the shoulders to the waist and encompasses almost the entire belly circle.
Fill in the shoulders of Bart's T-shirt by drawing lines outward from each side of the neck, then lines slightly outward from the top of the two shirt marks you made for his torso in in Step 10. Connect these lines on each side to form the sleeves.
Draw arms and hands with four nubby fingers each extending from these shirt sleeves.
Add shorts just below Bart's shirt that extend about halfway down the lines you sketched for legs.
Draw segments below the shorts for each leg, a band on each leg for socks and simple cartoon shoes to finish your Bart Simpson drawing.
