Studio Grants

Studio grants are primarily awarded by nonprofit organizations looking to support working artists. They typically grant free studio space and a small stipend to individuals who need financial support to create their art. Studio grants, also sometimes called residency grants, are available for painters, sculptors, sketch artists, etc.
  1. Women's Studio Workshop

    • Women's Studio Workshop operates a space for female sculptors, printmakers, photographers, and book artists, among others. Its grant program awards six- to eight-week residency opportunities for female artists. Winners also receive stipends of $2,000 to $3,000 and $700 for art materials. However, the main draw of the grant, is the housing and unlimited access to a studio that it provides. Interested artists should send in a description of their most current project, a resume and images of recent work by April of each year to be considered.
