Click on the design program icon in the start menu or desktop to initiate it. Once launched, open the gift label image file in the program by selecting "File," then "Open" from the toolbar menu. A new screen will appear allowing the user to view computer files and destinations. Select the image file from the screen, and click "OK."
Print a test page of the image to ensure that it fits on the paper and appears as desired. Place a plain single piece of paper into the paper feeder of the printer. Then select "File" and "Print" from the toolbar menu located at the top of the program. Permit the paper to print, then remove and allow it to dry upon completion.
Scale down the image in the printer settings if it didn't fit on the page. Select "File" from the toolbar menu, then "Page Setup" from the list. A new screen will open. Navigate to the "Page Layout" section of the screen, and click on "Scale Printing" in the drop-down list. Upon selecting, enter a numerical value inside of the scale bar. Select "OK" when finished, and print the image once again.
Place the adhesive paper into the printer paper tray once the image fits well on the test page. If more gift labels will be printed, place a maximum of two adhesive paper sheets into the feeder at a time to prevent jamming the rollers. Select "File," then "Print" from the toolbar to print the labels.
Cut the gift labels out from the adhesive paper once they have printed and dried. Use scissors to cut out the shape or around the label. Separate the adhesive paper from the backing by peeling it apart, and place the gift label onto the paint can.
