Olympic Torch Crafts

Making an Olympic torch craft is a nice way to celebrate the Olympics, which are held every four years across the world. It is the symbol of the games, marking their beginning and their end. Many Olympic torch crafts can be made from the same design with a few variations.
  1. The Tube

    • Place three sheets of paper of the same color on top of each other and overlapping. Roll the three sheets of paper into a cone, making sure they are packed tightly. Secure with tape and decorate the cone. You can also make the bottom part out of a toilet paper roll, a paper towel roll, a plastic tube or an aluminum paper.

    Torch Top

    • Cut a plastic water bottle at about 1/3 of the way from the top. Remove the cap. Place the water top upside down inside the open side of the cone. Glue the plastic top to the cone with a good amount of glue. Instead of the water bottle, you can also use a Styrofoam cup or choose the option of not using anything at all.

    The Flames

    • Cut red, yellow and orange tissue papers in the shape of flames. Wrap the tissue papers loosely together and put one end of the bundle inside the bottle neck. Glue the papers in the bottleneck and spread out the other end of the paper bundle. For these flames, you can use colored Kleenex or colored plastic sheets.
