How to Decorate GIFs

GIF is a file format used to store image data. "GIF" stands for "graphic interchange format." GIFs are often used as an image format on websites, and can add flair to a text document or Web page. Decorating GIFs allows you to add additional visual elements to your image. You can use Microsoft Paint, the integrated graphics tool that comes with Microsoft Windows, to edit and decorate your GIF files.

      Click on the start button and click on "All Programs."

      Click on "Accessories" and click on "Paint."

      Click "File" and "Open" and browse to the location of the GIF file to open it.

      Decorate the GIF by adding lines using the line tool, text using the text cursor tool or shapes using the shapes palette in the top menu bar. You could add white stars and red stripes to your GIF using the star and rectangle shape tools to give your GIF a patriotic theme.
