How to Learn Pottery Online

The art of pottery dates back many centuries to a time when people regularly made their own dishes or hired a local potter to do the job. Pottery such as plates, bowls, vases and mugs are formed by using a potter's wheel on which clay is thrown and shaped. After forming an item, it is then dried and baked in a high-heat oven known as a kiln. The piece is then coated with a glaze and fired again to finish and protect it. Learning this process can be challenging at first, but with a little practice you will soon be creating your own creative pottery.
