How to Make Feminine Logos Using CS5

Released in 2010, Adobe's Creative Suite 5 (CS5) empowers graphic designers to manifest any type of logo they can imagine. Patterns and brushes within Photoshop allow designers to make unique feminine logos quickly and professionally with a minimum of work.

Instructions

  1. Pattern

    • 1

Download a pattern or set of patterns to suit your purposes. See the Tips and Resources for help with this.

    • 2

Install the patterns by double clicking on the file once the download completes. This will automatically open Photoshop if it wasn't already running.

    • 3

Start a new document by clicking "File" and then "New." Select the length and width of your logo in pixels and click "OK."

    • 4

Click the "Set foreground color" button on the bottom left of the screen and manipulate the hue, saturation and brightness levels until you find a suitable color for your background. Select the paintbrush tool, and then click once inside the logo to paint it your chosen foreground color.

    • 5

Double click the layer from the layer menu on the right to bring up the "Blending Options" dialogue box. Click "Pattern Overlay," and choose the pattern you downloaded. Adjust the opacity and scale and move the pattern around to suit your needs.

    • 6

Select the "Horizontal Type Tool," and type the words for your logo. Highlight the text and then adjust the font type, color and size using the menus at the top, and reposition it if necessary using the "Move Tool."

    Brushes

    • 7

Follow all of the steps for making a logo with a pattern with the following adjustments; download and install a feminine brush instead of a pattern, and select the "Brush Tool" instead of opening the "Blending Options" dialogue.

    • 8

Right click inside the logo area and select the brush you downloaded. Adjust the hardness (keep it low and soft for a feminine logo) and size of the brush and then alter the foreground color to contrast with the logo color.

    • 9

Add and fine-tune your logo's text just as you would do with a pattern-based logo.
