First, you are going to need to decide on a domain name. Many artists make their domain name their first and last names followed by .com, .org or .biz. If you don't use your name, try to make the domain as short as possible so that it is easy for people to remember and type.
Find a website host. A quick search on the web will tell you that there are many low-priced web hosts out there. Look for one that gives package deals that includes domain name, website templates and plenty of upload space.
Website templates are easy to use. Basically, you choose the style and colors, and you have a ready-made site to which you can add your images and text.
To make your website, you may want to separate your work into separate pages. For example, you could have a page for landscapes, a page for florals and a page for abstract art on your site. Or, if you do work for companies, you could have a page for illustrations and a page for marketing artwork.
On your home page, make sure to include a welcome and a brief overview of what kind of work you do. You may also want to include a contact page so visitors can drop you a note.
