How to Adjust the Roller Rockers on a Mopar

It's not difficult to adjust the roller rockers on a Mopar. Although every rocker arm is individually mounted on its own pedestal on other engines, the Mopar engine utilizes two rocker arm assemblies. The assembly is made up of a single tube which is inserted in eight different rocker arms. What this means is better steadiness to the cylinder head.

Instructions

    • 1

Use the wrench to take off the valve covers. Begin the action from the top of the cylinder heads. Take off the bolts on the cylinder head by using the wrench. Four of the bolts are placed on the valve cover's bottom section. The two remaining bolts are on the top of the cover.

    • 2

Find the adjusting bolt of every rocker arm. Locate the cup end adjuster. The cup end adjuster is a bolt near the end of the rocker arm. Moving the bolt left or right will adjust the rocker arm.

    • 3

Start the engine. Let it run while you turn the cup end adjuster in a counterclockwise motion. Continue to do this until you hear a distinct clacking sound. Now begin to carefully make the cup end adjuster tighter. Stop when the sound of clacking ceases.

    • 4

Twist the cup end adjuster clockwise. Do the same thing to the other 15 valves. Shut the engine off. Use the wrench to secure the bolts on the cylinder heads.
