Who played all the roles during shakespeares time?

During Shakespeare's time, all roles, including female roles, were played by male actors. Women were not allowed to perform on stage. This practice continued until the Restoration period in the late 17th century when women began to take on female roles. Some of the famous male actors who played female roles during Shakespeare's time include:

Edward Alleyn: Alleyn was one of the most famous actors of his time and was a member of the Lord Chamberlain's Men, the acting company that Shakespeare was a part of. He played many female roles, including Cleopatra in "Antony and Cleopatra" and Juliet in "Romeo and Juliet."

Richard Burbage: Burbage was another prominent actor of the time and was also a member of the Lord Chamberlain's Men. He played many male roles, including Hamlet, Othello, and Lear, but he also occasionally played female roles such as Desdemona in "Othello."

Robert Armin: Armin was a comedian and actor who was a member of the Lord Chamberlain's Men. He often played female roles, including Falstaff's wife Mistress Quickly in "Henry IV, Part 1" and "Henry IV, Part 2."

William Kempe: Kempe was a famous comedian and actor who was a member of the Lord Chamberlain's Men. He often played female roles, including Audrey in "As You Like It" and Doll Tearsheet in "Henry IV, Part 1."

These are just a few examples of the male actors who played female roles during Shakespeare's time.
