Place all the elements of your sound system in their positions. At the mixer, connect all the inputs. Connect the cables for the powered loudspeakers to the outputs of the mixer. These must be balanced cables to prevent interference.
Run the cables out to the loudspeakers. Avoid running them alongside any cable containing mains power. If mains cables are present, try and cross them at 90 degrees to prevent mains hum being picked up.
Plug the cable into the sockets at the rear of the loud speaker. Also plug in the mains lead and connect that to a suitable outlet. Switch on the mixer and its ancillary equipment, then the loudspeakers.
Test the system by playing some music. Choose a track you are familiar with so you can judge the quality of the system. Make any adjustments required and make a note of them.
Tape down any cables to avoid trip hazards. Use 2-inch gaffer tape to do this. Make sure the speakers are secure, especially if they are on stands.
