Insert the microphone head in the mounting clip. The mounting clip has an opening on the top where the microphone head should be placed. Check to see that the microphone is connected to the power supply box.
Place the cable attached to the microphone head through the the mounting clip's hinge and then its jaws. The jaws will stop any vibration that comes from the cable.
Attach the power supply box to the performer. When an individual is on stage, it is important for that person to move freely. So even though the power supply can be placed anywhere on the body, it should be wrapped around the actor's waist, ankle or in his pants pocket. After attaching the power supply to the body, make sure the cable is hidden behind clothing.
Clip the lavalier mic onto the front of the performer's clothing, such as a shirt, blouse, or tie. The cable attached to the mic should be curved and inside the clothing, while the mic is on the outside.
Test the audio with the stagehands. The performer should speak into the microphone to conduct the test. The stagehand will know how to adjust the audio settings if there is a sound issue.
