What were the three levels of audience at Shakespeare theater?

First level:

- Sat on high benches on the stage

- Had chairs set up

- Could interrupt the play

- Mainly aristocrats and noblemen

Second level:

- Sat in the galleries

- Paid more than the third level (but less than first)

- Aristocratic women would sit here

- Could throw things in the stage

Third level:

- "Groundlings"

- Stood in front of the stage

- Paid the least - 1 penny

- Could boo, cheer, throw projectiles
