How to Change Opera Speed Dial

The Opera browser provides an alternative to your default web browser. As with any browser, each one presents special features and a different interface. The Opera browser has one such feature called "Speed Dial." This is a page that is displayed when a new tab is opened and contains a label and thumbnail of up to nine websites. This allows a type of "shortcut" to each website for quick access. The websites displayed are picked by the user and can be changed at any time.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on the computer. Log in and open up the Opera web browser by double-clicking the "Opera" shortcut icon located on your desktop. If the icon does not exist, click on the start menu and click on "All Programs" and then "Opera."

    • 2

Wait for the browser to open. Create a new tab in the browser by pressing "Alt" and click on "Tabs and Windows" and "New Tab." You may also open a tab by pressing "CTRL" and "T" at the same time or by clicking the "+" icon to the right of the current tab.

    • 3

Right-click on the thumbnail of the shortcut you wish to change. Click "Edit." This will bring up a box containing a list and a text field. You may enter the website of your choice manually into the text field or you may select it from the list if it is there. Click "OK" when finished and the thumbnail will update. Click on the thumbnail to confirm that the new shortcut takes you to the correct website.
