In scene 2 what does Polonius tell Claudius and Gertrude is the cause of madness?

In scene 2 of Shakespeare's Hamlet, Polonius does not tell Claudius and Gertrude what the cause of madness is. Instead, he tells them his theory about the cause of Hamlet's madness, which is that it is caused by his love for Ophelia.
