What does Reverend Hale do at the end of act 3?

At the end of Act 3, Reverend Hale makes a discovery that shifts his perspective on the Salem witch trials. He finds Abigail Williams dancing in the woods during a prayer session with her friends. This moment reveals the true nature of Abigail's accusations, as Hale begins to suspect that the girls are not simply vessels of God exposing evil but may be driven by personal motives and desires.

Hale's realization causes him to doubt the veracity of the Salem witchcraft accusations. Although he initially arrived in Salem as a firm believer in the existence of witchcraft, Hale's experience with the trials and the revelation about Abigail's true character lead him to question the validity of the proceedings and the innocence of the accused. This shift in Hale's beliefs becomes significant in the play as he becomes more sympathetic to the accused and tries to help them in any way he can.
