Julius Caesar is based on the real-life Julius Caesar, a Roman general and statesman. He was born on July 13, 100 BC, in Rome. He was a brilliant general and conquered much of Europe. He was also a skilled orator and politician, and he became one of the most powerful men in Rome. He was eventually assassinated on the Ides of March, 44 BC, by a group of Roman senators who feared his growing power.
