Why did Shakespeare write the play Julius Caesar in Elizabethan era?

Shakespeare did not actually write Julius Ceasar in the Elizabethan Era. It is believed to have been written between mid 1599 and September of that same year. This would put the play in the midst of the Jacobean era, so named after King James I, who came to power in 1603 and whose reign lasted until 1625.
