Punch Line Comedy Club has an appropriate name as some of the country’s most accomplished comedians deliver jokes. In addition to the national touring performers, Punch Line has “SF Comedy Showcase” and “SF Comedy Allstars,” featuring local comedians. The club, which is only for those 18 and over, is open from Tuesday to Sunday. Punch Line also has a location in Sacramento.

Jim Carrey, Ellen Degeneres and Robin Williams all started at Rooster T. Feathers’ open mic night, according to the club. Rooster T. Feathers continues to develop the next big star, while hosting established comedians. The "New Talent/Open Mic Night" takes place on selected Wednesdays. Additionally, Rooster T. Feathers has a comedy workshop to teach the craft of comedy. Thursday night is college night and Sunday is military night, in which guests showing the proper ID get in for free. It also has its own way of helping people deal with the economy by having a "bailout plan," where the 10:30 p.m. Saturday night show costs only $7. The club is for guests 21 and over.
