Kingston’s most popular comedy destination is the Time to Laugh Comedy Club at 394 Princess Street. The club is open three times a week starting at 9 p.m. Wednesday is a karaoke night but comedians are showcased on Friday and Saturday every week. The karaoke night is free but tickets have to be purchased for the weekend comedy shows, the price depending on which comedians are performing. Students and those in the military are also offered discounted entry to the club with valid identification. Free entry is given as a birthday gift to anyone with a birthday within four days of a performance--again, identification must be shown. Dinner and show offers are also available as a package deal with both “The Grizzly Grill” across the street and “Minos” in downtown Kingston.

The restaurant Little Portugal hosts an improv comedy event in its upstairs lounge at 336 Barrie Street, A Slice O' Pie. It follows a similar format as that used by "Pushing the Improv Envelope," a production night that started in nearby Hamilton, Ontario, dedicated to finding venues for up-and-coming improvising comedians. A Slice O' Pie is Kingston's answer to that but with a slightly more relaxed atmosphere.

The Baiden Street Theatre at 55 Baiden Street has an improv comedy night put on by “Theatre 5," a non-profit company that has been going for nearly 40 years. The show runs every Saturday night from 8 p.m. and tickets are available at $8 for adults and $4 for seniors and students. The show has a regular cast of improv comedians and actors. The twist is that the comedy has the potential to change every night. This is due to the performers relying on the audience to give suggestions and ideas.
