Go to the Times Square TKTS booth, if you are staying in midtown or uptown Manhattan, to get half-price tickets to Broadway shows. The best time to get in line for tickets is at 1 p.m. on Mondays through Saturdays in order to get same-day tickets for evening productions. The ticket booth is open from 3 to 8 p.m. To purchase same-day matinée tickets on Wednesdays and Saturdays, get there no later than 9 a.m. and the ticket booth is open between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. On Sundays, the booth sells matinée tickets from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tickets for evening shows are available from 3pm until closing. It's best to get there on Sundays at least an hour before the opening.
Look for individuals wearing TKTS Staff T-shirts who can direct you to the booth in case it has been temporarily moved.
Visit the South Street Seaport TKTS booth, if you are staying in downtown Manhattan. This booth is located at the corner of Front and John Street, at the rear of the Resnick/Prudential Building. The booth is open Mondays through Fridays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. At the Seaport location, tickets for Wednesday matinées are sold on Tuesdays, and Saturday matinée tickets are sold on Fridays. Sunday matinée tickets are sold on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Use window 6 at the Time Square TKTS booth if you plan to get tickets for a play, rather than a musical. Ask a member of the TKTS staff to direct you to window 6 when you get near the front of the line to get in and out more quickly.
Bring cash because TKTS does not accept credit cards. It does accept traveler's checks. Remember that you will pay a $3 per ticket surcharge.
