Talk with the choir director of your local church to see how you can join the choir. If you get invited to join, congratulations.
Arrive to choir rehearsal on time to learn new songs or practice songs your church choir already sings.
Bring a notebook or a tape recorder so you can rehearse songs that you are learning once you get home.
Go over the songs you are learning at home and sing them to yourself during the day.
Ask the choir director who sings the songs you are learning and go to the library and borrow the CD or buy the music CD yourself so you can get more familiar with the song and perfect it.
If you have a choir robe, be sure to keep it clean. Look your best every time you sing in God's house. Obey your churches dress code for choir members.
Keep your eyes on the choir director at all times while you are singing so that you can follow their lead and not miss a note.
Remember that there is always someone looking at you while you are singing. Sing with passion and worship God as you are singing. You can bring joy to yourself and those who are watching you.
Don't sleep in the choir stand, chew gum, or text your buddies. If your church is being recorded for television or the world is watching you live on the internet, people can get a bad impression of your church. Always shine while you are in the choir.
