Insert the installation disc that should be included with your Mbox 2 Mini, or open the downloaded installation file containing the Pro Tools LE software and Mbox 2 Mini drivers. This should be completed before connecting your Mbox to your computer. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation of the Mbox 2 Mini drivers as well as Pro Tools LE. When the installation is complete, restart your computer.
Connect the Mbox 2 Mini to your computer using a standard USB cable. A USB port is on the rear of the Mbox. Do not launch Pro Tools LE before making this connection, because the software won't function if it can't locate the Mbox 2 Mini.
Connect stereo speakers to the rear of the Mbox 2 Mini using standard RCA cables. There's a jack for headphones, too. Before connecting a microphone to the rear of the device using an XLR cable, check your microphone's manual to find out whether you will need to use the Mbox's "phantom power" switch. This adds 48 volts that can power components on some microphones. You can also connect a 1/4-inch cable to the front of the Mbox 2 Mini and use it with a keyboard or guitar.
Launch the Pro Tools LE software, and you're ready to begin recording.
