How to Design Your Own CD Covers

If you are trying to get your music noticed, one way to do it is through marketing yourself and CD. Making copies of your CD to pass around to family, friends and around well-known areas of the city will help you entice others to listen to your music since they would not have access otherwise. Creating your own CD cover is simple, and may be done with a variety of resources on the Internet. Once you create your cover, package together the CD and start getting your name out there.

Instructions

    • 1

Select a program to use from the Internet that offers free CD cover designing. Examples of three would be Blue Huge Labs, Mixonic and Project Arctic.

    • 2

Upload the picture you would like to use for your CD cover to the website of your choice. You may choose artwork or photos already on your computer to use for the cover.

    • 3

Add words to the front of the cover, such as your band or group name, CD name or anything else you want. Keep words limited however, to prevent the cover from looking too busy. For example, on Big Huge Labs, you have the option to add a title and text that will appear below the title. In the title box, you may want to add the group name, followed by only the title of the CD in the text box.

Print out the CD cover according to your printer instructions. Cut and fold the cover as directed by the website instructions, then seal with a small amount of tape.
