How to Reinstall Songbird

Songbird is the software used by Philips Go Gear mp3 players to manage purchase and installation of music on the player. It can be downloaded from the internet or can be installed directly from the mp3 player, where it was factory loaded. You will need the password and log in you created when you first installed Songbird on your computer. If you have forgotten one or the other, you can have them emailed to you.

      Using your computer, go to the Phillips Songbird homepage. Click on the words "log in" in the upper right hand corner of the page. When the log in prompt form appears, type in your email address and password. If you have forgotten your password, click on the "forgot password" bar, and a response will be emailed to you. Follow the directions in the email to retrieve your password.

      Look in the lower right hand corner of the web page after you log in. Your personal mp3 player type should be displayed there. Click on the words that show the player in question. This will take you to a page that displays your type of mp3 player.

      Click on the words "support page" displayed under the written description of your product.

      Scroll down the list of product support items, and click on the words "Software and Drivers". A box will open in the middle of the page, displaying a long string of letters and numbers, ending with ".exe". Click on that. A pop-up box will open, asking you to "save file".

      Click on "Save File", and follow the on screen directions. Make note of to location on your computer where the file will save. Once it is saved, go to the file, click on it, and follow the on screen directions to reinstall the program on your computer.
