How to Transfer From Cubase to Renoise

If you are planning on transferring files from Cubase to Renoise, you must know how to configure audio and MIDI signals and set audio channels. To transfer audio files from Cubase to Renoise, the ReWire process is required when syncing together both of the programs. ReWiring software enables you to import, export and add live audio effects with two different music interfaces.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the Cubase software. Open the Renoise software and wait as the "ReWire Client" window pops up. Cubase automatically detects the Renoise software and opens up the "ReWire" window.

    • 2

Select the "ReWire Slave Mode" option for the Renoise software when instructed. Press the "Play" button in Cubase to see if the Renoise software is in sync. Click the "Devices" menu at the top, and click "Renoise ReWire."

    • 3

Press the blue "Channel" button on the left-hand side of the "Channel Mix." Double-click on the names in the "Display As" section to change the names.

    • 4

Open a file in Renoise, and press the "Play" button. Both of the same files playing on the Cubase and Renoise interface will play.

    • 5

Transfer MIDI files by choosing a device you want to play in the Renoise software. Select a blank Cubase MIDI track where Renoise will transfer the file.

    • 6

Select the "MIDI Output" menu, which is below the "MIDI Inputs" box, from the blank track. Choose a Renoise device from the list of options. Play notes in the Renoise software, and hit the play button. The Cubase software records the notes as Renoise plays them.
