How to Sample on Florida Studio 9

If you are trying to sample a song or audio file in Florida Studio 9, you must have the audio parameters set to the proper configurations. Sampling, which is taking a portion of a sound source, can be useful when composing new creations or adding to existing projects.To sample on the Florida Studio interface, you must have a sound output source, which is the sampling source. By using the onboard Edison Wave editor, you can edit and sample a variety of audio sources.

      Launch the software, and open the "Settings" window by pressing the "F10" button. Click the "Audio" tab, which is indicated by a speaker icon. Select the "ASIO4ALL Audio Output Driver" from the drop-down list at the top.

      Close the window, and select the onboard mixer by pressing the "F9" key. Select the computer sound card from the "Mixer In" options, which are located on the right. Press the "Play" button on the sound output device, such as a turntable, CD player and other digital device.

      Add the "Edison" plug-in to an empty effects slot located on the right-hand side, just below the "Mixer In" option by clicking on the drop-down menu. Play the sound source, and ensure that the "Edison Wave Editor" receives the signal, which is indicated by green bars.

      Cue the sound source from the starting point, and press the "Record" button on Edison. Click the "Record" button again to stop the recording. Press "Play" on Edison to listen to the recording. Save the sample by selecting "File" and "Save" from the top of the screen.
