How to Copy a Project on a VS-2480

Roland's VS-2480 digital audio workstation is an all-in-one desktop recording studio. With a built-in hard drive, it is capable of performing all functions needed to record, overdub and mix complete song projects. As with any multitrack project, many ideas are tossed around and it can be convenient to make safety copies of your basic project. The VS-2480 allows easy copying of existing projects or templates to serve as backups or working copies.

Instructions

Press the "Project" button in the Menu section on the right of the VS-2480. Use the shuttle wheel to highlight "Project List." Press the flashing "Enter/Yes" button to select.

Use the shuttle wheel to box the project file you wish to copy. Press the unlit "Enter/Yes" button to select the project, indicated by a check mark to the left of the project title.

    • 3

Press the "Page" button below the LCD screen until "Copy" appears as an option at the bottom of the Project List page, usually at the F1 position. Press the "F1" button -- or other "F" button if your firmware version differs -- to open the Project Copy dialogue.

Press "F4" to select a different drive partition, or do nothing to to accept the listed partition. Press "F5" to start the copy process. When complete, you will have an exact copy of the project, down to the project name. You may wish to alter the name of the copied project to distinguish it from the original.
